Eight years after a New Mexico judge ruled in Yazzie/Martinez v. State of New Mexico that the state was failing to provide a constitutionally sufficient education to Native students, English-language learners, students with disabilities, and low-income students, (A total of roughly 70% kids state-wide) the state is still out of compliance. Now, plaintiffs are asking a judge to demand a new plan.

A hearing on the latest request is scheduled for Friday at 8:30 a.m. at First Judicial District Court in Santa Fe (225 Montezuma Ave.). Supporters are encouraged to attend.
