505OMATIC is New Mexico's worker-owned independent civic media co-op. We make short, shareable videos about the things that matter most to New Mexicans. You can find us on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and Reddit, or in your inbox when you subscribe at 505omatic.com.

Most people get their information from social media, but almost none of it is local. We set out to see if we could use that format to build something actually useful. Content that informs instead of enrages. A movement that breaks from the stale, off-putting, increasingly distrusted voices of traditional journalism. Stories that make New Mexicans feel seen.

We also host The Living Room at the Jean Cocteau Cinema, a free monthly conversation series where we dig into local issues with the people who care about them most.

We're independent, sustained through memberships, grants, and local partnerships. Our small but growing community of little video makers believes that focusing on what's happening here, in our area code (and 575!), is how we take control of our narrative and our destiny.
