Announcing Panelists, Bands, and Waffles(!?!) for The Albuquerque Press Club Journalism Mini-Summit: Saturday 5/23 at 6pm

The big night is almost here, and we've finally kinda nailed down our guests for our "journalism mini-summit" and, boy, we could not be more jazzed.

Longtime 505OMATIC followers might remember how we kicked off our IRL community conversation series The Living Room, but in case you missed it last March (2025) we had a similar discussion with some distinguished local journalistic heroes. This time we're digging deeper: talking about where we're falling down on the job, confronting the media overlords, the division (if any) between art and journalism, adapting to our AI-ridden future, and expanding a healthy, welcoming, and constructive journalistic community.

Our perspective is everyone has a stake in the work we make, and how it makes it to and connects with the people who need it the most.

So to have this discussion we're enlisting...

Southwest Contemporary's Editor-in-Chief and frequent Living Room guest/host Jordan Eddy

KRQE News 13 photojournalist and Albuquerque Press Club President Dom Brown

Photojournalist and Documentarian Jimmy Himes-Ryann

and KOB Reporter Monica Logroño

The conversation will be hosted by our own Devon Ludlow to be followed with a hearty Q & A session. BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE!!

Two musical acts have been kind enough to grace us with their presence. Starting with Santa Fe's ethereal Lamby!

Georgie Hahn of Lamby

And we're very pumped to "rock out" with our buddy Javier Romero of Strange Magic

And as promised: Waffles! We'll have With Love Waffles on-site from 6-10pm!

ALSO NEW 505OMATIC MERCH FOR SALE!

New Blue Sky soda inspired Shirts!

Shirts and stickers and one other surprise item that may or may not make it here on time from China!

So see everyone at the Press Club! Also I should probably also mention that is somewhat of a fundraiser for us, so if you like what we do please come and throw us a dollar or two. We'd really love to keep this up! K TNX BYE
