How Pecos Kids are Learning to Love Their River by Raising Trout in The Classroom
Students at Pecos Elementary, from Head Start through fifth grade, spent months raising trout from eggs in their classroom before releasing them into the Pecos River. The project, run with the Upper Pecos Watershed Association and Trout Unlimited, connects kids to their local watershed and the six imperiled fish species that share it. Dedicated to Arnold Adkins, whose vision established Trout in the Classroom in Pecos over 10 years ago.
