Packed PRC Hearing Shows Deep Unease Over Blackstone’s Proposed Takeover of PNM
We attended a packed PRC hearing on Blackstone’s proposed acquisition of PNM in Albuquerque last night.
New Mexicans raised concerns about higher electric rates, water-hungry data centers, fossil fuel expansion, and whether a short-term private equity model belongs anywhere near a public utility that serves over 550,000 customers.
This decision isn’t final and public comments are still being considered.
