Amira, the state-mandated AI reading screener, recorded K–3 students’ voices for two years, and parents say they were never told. At the Thursday, July 30, 2026 board meeting, Superintendent Christine Griffin announced the district will refrain from using Amira until the state Public Education Department issues guidance.
